  • Traditional string inverters can only find the Local Maximum Power Point (LMPP)

  • The LMPP is the point at which the string of solar panel is producing this most power, but it may not be the global maximum power point

  • In shaded conditions, the LMPP may be significantly lower than the GMPP. this means taht tranditional string inverters may be underperforming by a significant margin.
